Internet of (Every) Things and Robotics: the Future of Privacy and Security
The interaction between physical objects and sensors connected to Internet makes it possible to exchange information in a manner which has never previously been possible anywhere in the world and to render smart objects inanimate in order to provide functionalities and services which have not yet been fully explored.
At a European level, the declared objectives of the Internet of Things are to improve people’s quality of life, to safeguard the environment, to save energy, to ensure citizens’ security and to increase companies’ efficiency, productivity and competitiveness, also through supporting differentiation strategies and creating new jobs.
These IT assets which are fueled by big data and the development of cloud computing systems inevitably usher in new challenges including those relating to law, with specific regard to privacy and security. Consider for example how much sensitive data can be accumulated by wearable devices or consider the effects of a hacking attack against a simple drone making deliveries in a city. These are increasingly likely scenarios requiring serious reflection.
We are working to organize a dedicated event during the EXPO, in partnership with various entities, thanks to our great network of experts.
